Tours ]
Since sunset
will be at 5 pm, workshop sessions will be held in the evening to free
up daylight time for seeing the island. The following optional tours have
been arranged to give a good overview of Catalina Island in the limited
time available.
If you wish
to go on these tours, please sign up and pay for them along with your
registration (the group discounted rate is only available this way).

Monday
afternoon: Inland Motor Tour (4 hours)
This
28-mile narrated excursion takes you to the Airport-in-the Sky and Nature
Center ~ and beyond, Catalina's Pacific side. It's the only way to visit
El Rancho Escondido, where you'll be treated to an Arabian horse demonstration,
refreshments, and time to explore the trophy room of the prize winning
Wrigley Arabians and browse through the Hidden Ranch Store. Plus, there's
a good chance to see buffalo on this tour!

Tuesday
afternoon: Undersea Tour (45 minutes)

Sit
five feet under the water in a spacious, climate-controlled cabin and
watch Catalina's abundant marine life. As we feed the fish, you'll come
face-to-face with a wide array of undersea dwellers: bright orange garibaldi,
spotted calico bass, opaleye, halfmoons, urchins, rockfish, and bat rays.

Tuesday
afternoon: Casino Tour: An Art Deco Masterpiece!
(45 minutes)
 Take
a trip down memory lane to the days when bands were big and movies were
just beginning to talk. On this guided tour you'll visit the Avalon Theatre
with its extraordinary Art Deco murals and classic 1929 theater pipe organ,
and continued up to the beautiful, world-famous Casino Ballroom. Many
a romance flourished here. (Tour requires an uphill walk on steep ramps.)
