ENGenious Wins Gold!

The 2015 issue of ENGenious has won a gold award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VII in the Awards of Excellence category of Annual Magazines. The award is given by the CASE District VII Board of Directors and the Awards of Excellence Committee to "superior magazines published once a year." First published in 2001, ENGenious is a publication for alumni and friends of the Caltech Division of Engineering and Applied Science (EAS). The goal of the publication is to highlight the contributions of the EAS faculty, students, and alumni in research, education, and industry. [ENGenious]

Alumnus Receives Award from Council on Large Electric Systems

Alumnus Thales Papazoglou (MS ME ’70), who was advised by Professor Noel R. Corngold, has been awarded the Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) Technical Committee Award for his contribution in the area of system operation and control.  He was a Professor of Electric Power, and Director of Electric Power Systems Laboratory at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece for 35 years.

2013 Caltech Distinguished Alumni

Caltech has recognized four Engineering and Applied Science (EAS) graduates with the Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor regularly bestowed by the Institute. They are Y. C. L. Susan Wu (PhD '63 Aeronautics), Sébastien M. Candel (MS '69 and PhD '72 in Mechanical Engineering), Uma R. Chowdhry (MS '70 Engineering Science), and James R. Fruchterman (BS '80 Engineering and Applied Science, MS '80 Applied Physics). [Caltech Release]

EAS Alumni Named to Forbes Magazine's 30 Under 30

Alumni Jessie Rosenberg (PhD '10 Applied Physics) and Kelly Littlepage (BS '09 Control and Dynamical Systems) have been named to Forbes magazine's 30 Under 30, a list of notable leaders who have yet to reach their 30th birthdays. The list honors people from 12 fields that range from finance and science to music and entertainment.
